Training for Warriors (TFW) located inside SBG Athens is Athens GA’s PREMIERE COED group fitness program. Using principles developed to produce some of the best athletes in the world; we are confident Athens best group fitness program will be a huge success!

Our goal is to provide a top notch strength and conditioning program for people of all ages and fitness levels. The program combines resistance and endurance training, core strengthening and various other muscle toning/fat shredding exercises. The activities in our classes are designed to be both challenging and exciting.

Those aspects breed a camaraderie that allows each member to rely on one another for encouragement while reaching a mutual goal. Beginners are always welcome! Our program is designed for all fitness levels, from being able to challenge the most physically gifted to providing a starting point for those just returning to the gym (or going for the first time)!

Rather than starting a monotonous, mind-numbing workout routine at your current gym, start fresh by participating in our group fitness classes developed by one of the leaders in the industry, Martin Rooney (founder of TFW with 30 years experience training some of the best athletes in the world). Any gym can have equipment and offer workouts. What separates the TFW system from other training programs is its culture. Although TFW encompasses signature warmups, speed training, strength training, endurance training, flexibility work and nutrition all based on a comprehensive evaluation process, the most important component of the system is its motivational approach and family environment. At SBG, we know if you don’t have fun and enjoy the training, you won’t do it. TFW is not designed as a sport or competition, but focuses on you competing against and bettering your body, mind and spirit.

TFW defines a warrior as anyone prepared to work hard, develop oneself and take on his or her particular challenges in life. The fun and exciting workouts of the TFW system are designed to help you develop the muscular strength and mental fortitude needed to take on those challenges and reach your fitness goals. No two classes will be exactly the same and consist of exercises implementing kettle-bells, battling ropes, medicine balls, free weights, and suspension trainers! This will be the most exciting and intense workout of your life! Boredom and plateaus will be a thing of the past! Time to raise the bar even higher and give your body what it craves!



Before you START your first training session with us, we are going to personally interview you, create a dossier for you, and go over what benefits you are seeking to gain. Our program caters to ALL women…

What is the personalized dossier?

Every person in the TFW program will have different goals. Some have prior and current injuries. Some have personal information we will need to know about. All of this goes into the dossier – so that we are on the same page and can work together more efficiently. If you ask most gyms for your dossier – all they probably have is a folder with your contract in it!

It is also during this interview that we go over your current eating habits.

Then we go over what foods you like and dislike. From there, depending on your weight, body fat percentage, measurements, and other factors, WE develop a CUSTOMIZED MEAL PLAN just for you!

We will measure you and take your body fat percentage

During your initial interview, we also do a physical assessment, take your weight and some measurements. After you join we do a series of basic physical tests which we use as a starting point to later re-evaluate. All of these numbers go into your portfolio.

Every month you will set goals and be tested in order to have tangible evidence of your success. That is what makes Training for Warriors different from all the rest.

  • I go to the gym routinely, mainly sticking to core exercises like leg presses and lunges before hitting the treadmill, but I only see limited results. I’m discouraged; can SBG Athens help me? You are in luck! We want you! Our professional training staff and intense group classes will provide direction for your workout that includes more than one or two machine exercises with a broad focus. We will hit specific parts of body, all over the body, every single class.
  • I’ve never been to the gym routinely, but Training for Warriors has peeked my interest. Are beginners welcome? EVERY person in Athens whose ultimate goal is to improve their personal fitness by working hard and meeting challenges is encouraged to come and participate in TFW!
